New account

Writes credentials to .env and adds an AccountDefinition to src/accounts.ts, typechecked before anything is saved. The UI server restarts itself right after (it doesn't hot-reload) — this page will bounce you back to the accounts list once it's back up.

Account ID Letters/digits/-/_ only. Used as --account=<id> and the data/<id>/ folder name. Label Env var prefix Becomes ALPACA_KEY_ID_<prefix> / ALPACA_SECRET_KEY_<prefix> in .env. Auto-fills from the ID above unless you edit it directly.

Paper Live (real money)

A LIVE account also needs its id added to the comma-separated CONFIRM_LIVE_TRADING environment variable manually before it can place a real order — this form's "Enabled" toggle alone is never enough (same two-gate design as every other live account here). Adding one account's id no longer removes another's.
